圣经正典与旁经（apocrypha）之间的区分

我们认为圣经正典有别于旁经；所谓旁经就是〈以斯拉续编上捲〉（the third book of Esdras）、〈以斯拉续编下捲〉（the fourth book of Esdras），〈多比传〉（book of Tobias），〈犹滴传〉（book of Judith），〈所罗门智训〉（book of Wisdom），〈便西拉智训〉（book of Jesus Syrach），〈巴录书〉（book of Baruch），〈以斯帖补篇〉（the appendix to the book of Esther），〈三童歌〉（the song of the three Children in the Furnace），〈苏撒拿传〉（the History of Susannah），〈彼勒与大龙〉（the History of Bel and the Dragon），〈玛拿西祷词〉（the Prayer of Manasses）与〈马加比传上捲〉（the first book of Maccabees）、〈马加比传下捲〉（the second book of Maccabees）。教会可以读这些旁经；如果其内容不违反圣经正典，也可以从其中记取教训；但旁经的见证绝对不能帮助我们确认信仰，旁经绝对没有这种效果，旁经更不能夺取圣经的权威。
